We've got the answers to your questions.
The lifespan of artificial turf varies depending on factors like the quality of the product, installation, and the amount of use. Generally, a well-maintained artificial lawn can last anywhere from 10 to 25 years.
You should be careful regarding the surrounding areas when installing. Our turf has been tested against extreme heat; however, sometimes, when nearby buildings have reflective glass, which may shine down on a rooftop balcony, or when you have a glass pool fence reflecting light, this concentrated light does heat up the turf considerably and may cause some melting damage. Inflatable pool toys can also act as heat magnifiers, so should not be left on the turf for long periods. We always suggest in these instances that you order our samples and place them in the area of concern and test it on a sunny day. That will give you an idea of how hot the area will be and how hot the turf will get.
Cleaning artificial turf is relatively easy. Regular maintenance involves sweeping away debris, rinsing with water, and occasional brushing to keep the blades standing upright. You should also check for any pet waste and clean it promptly. Some artificial turf products may require specific cleaning instructions, so it’s essential to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Many artificial turfs are designed to be safe for children and pets. They are typically lead-free and use non-toxic materials. However, it’s important to choose a high-quality product and keep it clean to ensure safety.
High-quality artificial turf can be more environmentally friendly than natural grass because it eliminates the need for water, pesticides, and mowing. However, the environmental impact can depend on the manufacturing process and disposal of old turf.
While some people choose to install artificial turf themselves, it’s often recommended to have it done professionally. Proper installation ensures the turf looks and performs its best over time.
